Monel 400 series products

Monel 400 (UNS:N04400 , DIN:NiCu30Fe W-Nr: 2.4360, BS:NA 12 ,Ni68Cu28Fe) is a kind of corrosion resistant alloy with the largest dosage, the most extensive use and the best comprehensive performance. This alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid and fluorine gas medium and good corrosion resistance to hot concentrated alkali liquor. It is also resistant to corrosion of neutral solutions, water, sea water, atmosphere and organic compounds. One of the important characteristics of the alloy is that it generally does not produce stress corrosion cracks and has good cutting performance.

Characteristics of Monel :

. Resistant to seawater and steam at high temperatures

. Excellent resistance to rapidly flowing brackish water or seawater

. Excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in most freshwaters

. Particularly resistant to hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids when they are de-aerated

. Offers some resistance to hydrochloric and sulfuric acids at modest temperatures and concentrations, but is seldom the material of choice for these acids

. Excellent resistance to neutral and alkaline salt

. Resistance to chloride induced stress corrosion cracking

. Good mechanical properties from sub-zero temperatures up to 1020℉

. High resistance to alkalis
